| About Michael A Wong & Spring Mountain Gallery | ||||||
| Born in San Francisco in 1952, Michael Alan Wong grew up in Pacifica, California, and has lived on the coast all of his life. His early love for photography led to his opening Spring Mountain Gallery in Half Moon Bay in 1980. As a photographer, his experience includes his employment as the principle photographer for a local nursery for almost 2 decades (his photos graced catalogs and produce crates world-wide), in addition to product photography, special events, catalog, studio, portrait, advertising, digital and wedding photography for Spring Mountain Gallery. Wong's true passion is nature photography, initially inspired by artists such as Ansel Adams, and Galen Rowell. He has used a variety of cameras through the years - 35mm cameras, Hasselblad, Pentax and Fuji medium format cameras, as well as his Canon Pro Digital cameras. Wong's images reflect his interests. He has traveled the world, and captured the scenes of exotic locations. His versatility in nature photography is demonstrated by the photos that he took when he climbed mountains as high as 20,000 feet in Bolivia, and he is just as at home at sea level, photographing ocean sunsets along his beloved coast. These days, he lives with his wife Deb, and near his daughter Kaitlyn. Deb works at the gallery as a framing assistant, photographer's assistant, digital specialist, and bookeeper in addition to being Spring Mountain's web, ad, and business card designer. Spring Mountain Gallery's services include custom framing, digital scanning and printing, photo restoration, events, portrait photography, and studio work.
